So, Badhai ho Badhai (means Congratulations) is slated for a May 24 release. Stars Anil Kapoor and directed by Satish Kaushik. "He plays fat man in love with a Christian girl (Kirti Reddy) who ultimately reduces his weight for the sake of his love," informs Shilpa Shetty, who also stars in the movie. "There was a whole team of professional make-up artists that was flown down specifically to do Anil's make-up," she adds. It is approximately for 40 minutes that Anil Kapoor plays a fat man in the film, which is in the form of a flashback. Aah, does anyone remember Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow in Shallow Hal? Smells like another desi ripoff. "Certainly not," said Kapoor at the music release of the film in Delhi recently. "It's a film based on the very Indian values of love and affection, of sharing and caring," he adds. Yes, it was a challenging task for Kapoor to play the role. "More so because working with Satishji is like working with a real perfectionist. He's very particular about each and every detail and is a pleasure to work with," says Anil.. Yeah right! Mr. Kapoor you just made my point. And Kaushik? The maker of box office blunders like Prem and Roop ki Rani Choron ka Raja (and a few forgettables that actually did business at the box office)? The man for whom time holds no bounds or meaning? Sure, sure. Whom are we trying to kid here? The soundtrack has already received a not-so-favourable response (Mr. Malik petering out again, I see).
