wake up and smell the magnolias

After some ghastly weather yesterday (bleak sky, clouds, rain, the works), things brightened up today, and I chose to sit facing the direction opposite to the train's -- only to be able to soak in the rays of the rising sun. Just took a little post-lunch break to go out and soak in more of the great weather and smell a magnolia (the flower, not the movie. The movie stank anyways). A magnolia (grandiflora, to be precise) tree near the parking lot was blooming some fine flowers. Great botany lesson revision too: anthers, stigma, pollen, the works.
