The Webslinger slams the Box Office: Just in case no one noticed, Sam Raimi seems to have achieved commercial acceptance (after gaining cult recognition with the Evil Dead films[1, 2, Army of Darkness]) with Spider-Man, which shattered every opening record on the books with an unprecedented $114.8 million weekend. Looks like Lucas's Clones have a lot to live up to (I'm sure he'll recover profits from merchandise and DVDs, but can't we get at least some semblance of entertainment like Star Wars instead of some commercial glut?) {slashdot musings}. Roger Ebert even rated the Clowns movie lower than Spider-Man...well only half-a-point lower, but you can always read the reviews.
